Clay Bodies

Clay bodies play an important role in development of color and surface in atmospheric firings. It is the base for which slips, and atmosphere can be applied to and are the beginning of the buildup of surface information. These are some clay bodies that I have work with and have formulated.

Beck Porcelaneous Stoneware ^10

This is a clay body that I have been working on since about 2017. It is slightly adapted from a body that I found a while ago but is far different from that at this point. It fluxes out nicely in soda and wood. It is my main clay body and one that I use with RF Studio Blue Celadon and RF Studio East Soda Slip in both wood and soda firing. This is the most updated version of this clay body from winter of 2019/2020. This edition of the clay body is formulated to use up half a 50 LB bag of OM4 and Tile 6.
